If these checks reveal any problems, do not use the machine until it has been corrected. Record inspections and tests in a written log. 8.3 Overall inspection and testing - (recommended twice a year or after damage) Contact the supplier for information on authorized testing services. The tests in 8.2 above are performed by qualified personnel in electrical and mechanical engineering- Isolate the power supply of the machine and the cushion system. Observe electrical safety precautions- Thoroughly inspect the pad assembly for mechanical damage- Disconnect the wires from terminals 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the control unit to the pad- Connect two white leads to one test input of the ohmmeter and two black leads to the other input. A person should walk through each part of the mat and each connecting part in turn (i.e., stand with both feet on the same uniform trim between the two parts) until all areas of the sensor mat are covered. The maximum resistance on the mat should not exceed 100 ohms. If these checks reveal any problems, do not use the machine until it has been corrected. Check whether the stopping performance of the machine has decreased compared with the performance used in the original safety distance calculation (see Section 5). Record inspections and tests in a written log. 37.8.4 Removal and disposal The removal pad subsystem is contrary to the installation procedure and will not create additional hazards. Before starting work, make sure that the power supply of the machine and mat system is isolated and locked on the power supply. If the system is to be reconfigured or repositioned, follow the handling precautions given in Section 1.
The mat subsystem does not contain any hazardous materials that require special precautions. 8.5 Fault finding Disconnect the prime mover before using the power supply to operate the mat control system. Observe electrical safety precautions. 8.5.1 Symptoms – If nothing is on the mat and the correct reset procedure is followed, the machine cannot be started. 1. If the MACHINE ENABLED LED on the mat control unit lights up, there may be a problem with the control system outside the machine or mat system. Check the external fuse in the safety output circuit of the control unit and replace it if necessary. Make sure to use the correct fuse value (max. 2A). Record the replacement in the inspection log. If the fuse blows immediately or needs to be replaced in advance, there may be a problem with the machine control circuit between the safety output of the pad control unit and the final control element (contactor) of the machine. 2. If the MACHINE ENABLED LED on the mat control unit is off, take the following measures: Check whether the POWER LED is on. If not, check the power supply of the mat control unit. Check that the power supply is connected to the appropriate terminal. Check the main and auxiliary fuses in the control module and replace them if necessary. Ensure that the primary fuse and secondary fuse use the correct fuse value (500mA anti surge). Record the replacement in the inspection log. If the fuse blows immediately or needs to be replaced in advance, please contact the supplier. 3. If the MACHINE ENABLED LED on the pad control unit is off, the POWER LED is on. On a dual channel system with contactor monitoring, if the external safety output fuse is not blown, there may still be faults outside the control unit.
