The electrical failure of the control unit meets the requirements of EN 954-1 Class 3, and the relevant parts of the machine control system can also meet the requirements. The cushion sensor complies with the requirements of EN 954-1 Class 1. Section 5 describes the interface in detail. The working principle of the mat is shown in Figure 1. Fig. 1 When the mat is activated, the non-conductive compressible partition (shown in black) is compressed into its groove, allowing two plates to contact, thus providing full sensitivity. The system is designed to detect adults weighing 35Kg or more. It is suitable for detecting adults using walking aids (walking sticks or frames). The system is not suitable for detecting children. The system shall not be used with any additional covering on the mat. The pad is molded onto a stationary steel plate and the vinyl pad is activated by 5. The vinyl outer surface of the gasket is completely sealed to prevent liquid ingress. It is resistant to bleaching agents, acids, salts and most industrial chemicals. Refer to Section 5.3.1 for detailed guidance on chemical resistance. The system operates at 24V DC and the fault current is limited. Therefore, under normal conditions, damage to the mat or interconnecting circuit does not create any electrical shock hazard. As shown in the figure, the cushion sensor has two different rib patterns. Any pattern can be used as the upper surface. The checkered pattern provides optimal traction in all directions. Straight rib pattern is easier to hose/rinse and is more suitable for dirty or sanitary sensitive applications. The documented process of risk assessment of a machine or process will reveal the identity and nature of the hazard and other relevant information. The characteristics of the protection system shall then be compared with the results of the risk assessment to determine whether the risk can be reduced to an acceptable level. In some applications, it may be necessary to combine multiple types of protection systems in order to achieve an acceptable level of risk. The system is designed to protect people by sensing people in the floor area around the machine and other similar hazards.
